MGMT sticks to ’90s rock on ‘Bubblegum Dog’

MGMT continues finalizing preparations for the release of ‘Loss of Life’, their next album. And, if just a month ago they surprised with the announcement of the album and the publication of their first single, this week they publish ‘Bubblegum Dog’, the second preview.

This new release is the fifth song of the ten that will make up the album, scheduled for publication on February 23. And, as with the beautiful ‘Mother Nature’, this song also draws on acoustic and electric guitars to present an animated ballad that gives shape to a work that looks like it will be very cohesive musically.

Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden release another alternative rock song with ‘Bubblegum Dog’, thus formalizing the sound that will surround ‘Loss of Life’. The video for the single also continues in this same dynamic, resorting to characteristic videos from the 90s in a clear reference to the style of music that surrounds ‘Bubblegum Dog’.

After the release of their first two previews, MGMT are preparing to release their fifth studio album in just a few months. It will follow up his 2018 ‘Little Dark Age’.
