The Galician group Meu They presented two albums in the mid-2000s, now they return with “Having fun” and are preparing the launch of a new album by Chesapik.
In the mid-2000s, from the ashes of the Elephant Band and the first Deluxe –with Xoel López in both formations– emerged Meua Galician group that went through a short-lived but very intense period of activity. They released a couple of excellent albums and toured for a short time. Their concerts were incendiary and used to leave those who didn’t know them speechless due to their musical expertise and the unusual attitude of their frontman. Now, many years later, when few remember them anymore, they return with a new album.
This news has been accompanied by “Having fun”, a song that represents their advance single. This song from Meu comes almost twenty years after their last album “Did You Hear?” (07). An album with a beginning that seems to subscribe to a melodic feeling close to pop and that moves towards slightly more hackneyed rock terrain. A sample of the sound we can expect from this next album.
True to their style, Meu They do not abandon the Anglo-Saxon league that gave so many years of glory to the national indie. “Having fun” is a song that transports us to Manchester in the nineties and is committed to music that makes its authors happy. Today, Meu are Nacho Mora, Ricardo Saavedra, Mikelini Martínez, Alberto Dopico and Alexandro González.
