METZthe noise rock and post-punk band from Toronto, have announced that they will be taking an indefinite break following their upcoming European and UK tour. A few months ago they were in our country to perform at the Canela Party festival.
The trio formed by Alex Edkins, Chris Slorach and Hayden Menzies He has remained active since 2007 and has released five studio albums, plus the compilation “Automat”. For more than fifteen years, they have been great representatives of the rawest and most energetic sound that can be seen on stage.
The band has also taken the opportunity to thank their label Sub Pop the constant support throughout all these years. Although this break does not have a definitive end, the members say that they are proud of their musical legacy and the impact they have had on the alternative rock scene. The farewell tour will include dates in several European cities such as Paris, Berlin, London and Amsterdam, where fans will have the last chance to say goodbye to METZ, at least for a while.
This indefinite retirement of the band is the ideal time to listen to their most recent album, “Up On Gravity Hill.” You can also take the opportunity to review the interview we did with them last April on the occasion of the release of this album.
