The Americans Mercury Rev will visit us again to present their twenty-fifth anniversary tour of “All Is Dream”.
They will take their live show in October to five of our cities on the occasion of the tour “Celebrating 25 Years Of ‘All Is Dream’”. Yes, a quarter of a century ago their fifth studio album was released, one of their recording peaks.
Reviewing their career in wide angle, it is worth saying that since their formation, in 1989 in Buffalo (New York), the Americans Mercury Rev They have dedicated themselves to boldly exploring the limits of artistic perception, channeling colors, sounds and visions that always seem unattainable.
In that sense, in the British newspaper Guardian praised the group as “a rarity in indie rock: a band that has continually evolved its sound, pushing the boundaries of what rock music really means over twenty-five years, taking elements from jazz, funk, doo-wop, techno, folk and more.”
The band’s recording debut took place in 1991 with “Yerself Is Steam”which made Pitchfork’s list of the best shoegaze albums of all time. Various musical collaborations with legendary artistic figures, as well as major performances at festivals and television networks around the world, have cemented their status as one of the best groups when it comes to combining commercial appeal with progressive musical experimentation.
This time they will not visit us just to show how very fit they are, but to remind us that also in 2001 they were able to compose an album of which twenty-five years later they can still feel very proud.
Finally, note that on the five dates of this tour, Mercury Rev They will be supported by their compatriot Sandy Bellalternative singer-songwriter who will perform in duo format, accompanied by Jeff Lipstein.
