Melody announced, during a press conference after his victory in Benidorm Fest, that he would implement changes in the production of ‘ESA diva’ to adapt it to Eurovision context. A month later, Rayden, who had been an advisor to the fourth edition of the contest, commented Melody’s victory in an interview with El País. The musician and writer said he had seemed “weird that someone who promised that everything was going to change it.” Rayden probably knew Melody’s intentions beforehand before the public, due to his jury role in Benidorm Fest. Melody, however, won the contest before publicly revealing its intention to modify the production of ‘ESA diva’. After leaving Benidorm Fest due to Eurofan toxicity, Rayden recognized, in the same interview, having personally bet on Kuve’s candidacies, Mel Ömana, J Kbello or Daniela Blasco.
Sita in Basel, one day after acting in the first semifinal of Eurovision, Melody has answered Rayden and has indicated that his statements contradict Benidorm Fest regulations, which allows the arrangement of the winning song to be modified if the artist wishes. Melody points out that she “has not changed the song”, but has “polished the sound”, and reason that “Rayden is not very well informed” because “in Benidorm’s bases it is allowed.” That of Dos Hermanas argues that it would have been “unfair” to present ‘the blackout’ instead of ‘that diva’, but that is not what he has done. “Then I do not understand how he, as a jury, says that when he goes against what Benidorm’s contracts is saying,” says Sevillana.
Rayden has received the video of Melody’s statement and the artist has answered in his stories labeling the diva and wishing him “a lot of luck.” Rayden accuses the means of misrepresenting his words and clarifies his previous statements: «In the interview I said something that was not understood and other media made a torticate copy.
