Álvaro Mayo, now known as MAYO, has not been able to reach number 1 on the Spanish sales chart due to the persistence of Omar Courtz. The Puerto Rican singer, who entered last week at the top, maintains that position with ‘Primera musa’. Additionally, Omar Courtz rises to number 2 singles with ‘QUEVASHACERHO Y’.
Therefore, MAYO has to settle for number 2 with ‘Season I’. It is a work of 6 songs in which electronic productions alternate with ballads. In their credits we find quite underground producers, such as the duo Blackpanda, Pablo Rouss, Sr Chen or grau (Santiago Grau Soto). Álvaro Mayo has one consolation: leading the vinyl chart, where he has been number 1.
The second most important entry is that of ‘An incredible week’ by La Pantera in position 19, followed by ‘Sin final’, the new one by Ana Guerra, which has entered at number 22, with collaborations such as those of Chenoa and Coti . We also highlight the arrival of Leo Rizzi’s notable ‘Blue Bird’ at number 25 (top 5 on vinyl).
Other entries to look out for are Marina Reche’s ‘Darkness’ EP (31st place), Maka’s ‘Time Flies’ EP (54th place), Noan’s ‘Space Personnel’ (73rd place), ‘New Arrangements’ by Van Morrison (80th place) and the collaborative ‘Mastercaster’ by Midas Alonso and Delson Aravena from Mastercaster (96th place).
We dedicate a special mention to ‘Harlequin’ by Lady Gaga, which reaches number 50 without a physical edition. Soon we assume that it will increase, as it is published in different media. Gaga’s album, only in its digital edition, has appeared at number 59 in the United Kingdom, number 40 in Australia, number 52 in France and number 72 in Italy. When it comes out physically, its true scope can be measured.
The list of entries this week in Spain is completed with compilations and reissues such as ‘Deseo carnal XL’ by Alaska Dinarama (30th place), ‘-=%x (Tour Collection)’ by Ed Sheeran (60th place) and ‘The Best of Bublé’ by Michael Bublé in ’97. Someone already smells like Christmas…
