Mastodon, top 25 albums in Spain; Prince, top 95

Aitana recovers positions on the Spanish album chart this week. ‘Cuarto Azul’ rises from 8 to 6, in its 66th week on the list, coinciding with the proximity of its arena concerts. The top 1 is maintained by Quevedo with ‘EL BAIFO’ for another week.

Among the week’s entries stands out Mastodon, which debuts at number 25 with ‘Marrow Deep’. It is a more discreet figure than those achieved by the group in other markets: the album enters at 5 in Germany, 6 in Australia and Finland, 4 in Belgium and Switzerland and 7 in Scotland, among other results. In the United Kingdom it debuts at number 27. The Warning also enters at number 28 with ‘Everything’s Falling’.

On the other hand, Alex Warren debuts at number 36 with ‘Wildchild’, after reaching number 1 directly in the United Kingdom. The previous one was ranked 88th in Spain, so not so bad.

Interpol, for its part, enters at number 80 with the recommendable ‘This Mirror Weighs a Ton’, compared to number 33 achieved in the United Kingdom. Don’t miss our recent viral interview with the group.

There are also several reappearances and entries of historical names. Fleetwood Mac reappears in ’82 with ‘Greatest Hits’. More striking is Prince’s entry with ‘Timeless’, which debuted in ’95. The Spanish result is one of the weakest on the album internationally: although it reaches number 1 in Switzerland and 4 in Belgium, it also enters number 5 in Austria, 6 in the Netherlands, 14 in Germany, 21 in Japan, 30 in France and 62 in the United Kingdom.

In terms of contemporary news, Galician rapper Hard GZ returns to the list at number 18 with ‘Lacosta’. The album returns to the chart after reaching number 1 on the vinyl chart.
