Marala and Queralt Lahoz They join forces to give shape to “Copeo Traïdor”, a song that combines denunciation and hedonism at the same time.
And not only denunciation and hedonism – because both Marala and Queralt Lahoz want to dance, but with whoever they feel like – but also a combination of Mallorcan folklore and very current electronic music. Precisely this electronics has been worked on together with the producers Toni Fort and Arnau Giménez of ZOO.
On that musical basis, Marala have created a song and have invited Queralt Lahoz herself, who sings in Catalan on this song, to their party. The “copeo” is a traditional Mallorcan dance that is accompanied by songs in which the woman is forced to dance, whether she wants to or not, which already evidenced violence against women when they were forced to dance without her consent. Marala takes both the name and the structure of the piece from this type of dance.
“Copeo Traïdor” is accompanied by a video clip directed by Jan Marsol with Pere Serra as dancer and Sira Aymarich as choreographer and dancer.
