Today the 22 groups and soloists selected for the 14th edition of Girando Por Salas, an initiative of the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM) of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, have been announced.
Names such as Melenas, Chica Sursalto, Lisasinson or Ortiga stand out on the list. The 22 selected will receive aid to hold concerts within a circuit of venues that currently has around 200 throughout Spain. This is intended to promote popular music in the different territories of the country.
On the other hand, each artist must perform their concerts outside the Autonomous Community in which they reside, trying to spread the music of each of them beyond their natural sphere of influence. In addition, they will also receive aid for the production and promotion of her work, thereby enhancing both record production and the stability of the live music venue circuit.
The artists have been chosen, apart from a jury, by the public, who voted for their favorite bands and soloists through the Girando por las Salas website. The 20 most voted had an extra vote to add to those that the selection committee can grant them. Of the 22 selected, 3 have had support from the popular vote.
