Recently, Alba Morena has published a version of ‘Al mar’, one of the greatest classics of Manel and of pop in Catalan in general, in tune with her latest artistic steps. And his recent single ‘It was clear that no’ was uploaded to platforms in a double version in Catalan and Spanish.
But actually the news is that the 4 previews that we know of their next album are even better. The album is called ‘Morena con A’ – so they stop confusing her with Alba Moreno – and it will be released on September 25. The full-length will not include the version of ‘Al mar’, but it will include the aforementioned ‘It was clear that no’, the piano and strings ‘torch song’ ‘2º1ª’, the Fleetwood Mac-style pop-rock of ‘Don’t come back’ and the composition that seems to be taking the lead, ‘Someone will have’. It’s our Song of the Day today.
With almost 100,000 plays on Spotify, supported by “indie radars” and others, it seems that ‘Someone will have’ is going to leave behind the electronic pop gems with which we met this Catalan singer-songwriter (‘Nadie’, ‘Yo te Quiero Pero’), and also the more grunge and guitar side that we heard on her EP ‘Trámite’.
Over a simple drum machine, Alba Morena narrates the difficulties of her emotional life. “I only cry or I laugh, where is the middle point?” he asks himself, before leaving a much more optimistic chorus: “With so many people in the world, there will be someone who loves me.”
According to Universal, the song emerged a year ago after “a history of disappointments and setbacks on an emotional level; facing a panorama where love seemed to resist. But Alba decided to cling to a single idea: the conviction that there is a person for every soul in the world and that, by pure inertia of destiny, there has to be someone good waiting to love her well.
