Among the artists who have released new music these days is Mahmood. ‘RA TA TA’ already appears first on the tracklist of his latest album, ‘NEI LETTI DEGLI ALTRI’, even ahead of the intro. The album was actually released last March.
‘RA TA TA’ follows ‘TUTA GOLD’, Mahmood’s latest hit, betting on a different sound based on an Afrobeat-inspired base. It’s today’s Song Of The Day.
To the sound design of ‘RA TA TA’, producers Katoo and Madfingerz incorporate sword sounds, which probably respond to the part of the lyrics in which Mahmood sings about going “without a shirt but with a katana.”
Life “on the street”, friendship “in a gang”, love and betrayal are some of the themes that run through the lyrics of ‘RA TA TA’ while the real hook is actually proposed by the onomatopoeic chorus, which goes from “fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa” to “ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta”.
The video clip for ‘RA TA TA’ plays with the lyrics’ references to humble living, and is full of choreography.
