M¥SS KETA is one of the most fun and enigmatic figures of current Italian pop: a person hidden behind a mask who, however, is more recognizable and identifiable than many artists with their faces revealed.
Their electropop productions, marked by lyrics that parody high society, have attracted the attention of series like ‘The White Lotus’ and have accumulated millions of listens. Next May you will be able to see her in Spain: she will perform on May 6 at the Razzmatazz 2 room in Barcelona and on May 7 at the Changó room in Madrid.
The market rewards “authenticity”, but you identify yourself as a “product” created by a collective. Is interpreting artificiality empowering?

I perceive the sound of your 2025 album “Punto” as more refined, somewhat more minimalist, but still party-focused. Is it the result of artistic maturity or a response to previous maximalism?
“POINT” IS A STAGE OF EVOLUTION IN MY WORK IN WHICH I USED SUBTRACTION AS DOMINATION. THE FOCUS ON THE PARTY IS STILL THERE, JUST CLEANER AND PRECISE.

For years you were an underground star in Milan. How would you describe the Milanese underground music scene?
THE UNDERGROUND SCENE IN MILAN CHANGED A LOT IN THESE YEARS. BEFORE IT WAS MORE CHAOTIC AND SPONTANEOUS; IT IS NOW MORE CURATED AND MEDIATED, AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THE INCREASE IN VISIBILITY AND THE DOMINANCE OF THE IMAGE IN THE ERA OF SOCIAL NETWORKS.
Do you think your audience understands that behind your supposedly superficial lyrics and image there is a strong sense of irony? I would even say that there is a certain parody of high society, do you agree?
SOME YES, OTHERS NO. I THINK IRONY WORKS IF IT CAN BE MISINTERPRETED, AND I LIKE THE IDEA OF SOMEONE STAYING ON THE SURFACE WHILE ANOTHER PERSON GOES DEEPER AND GETTING THE CRITICISTIC OF HIGH SOCIETY AND ALL THE OTHER ISSUES.
Why is the album called “.” (spot)? You beat Kesha to it, who then had the same idea. What is your concept?
A POINT IS AN END AND A BEGINNING; IT’S MINIMALIST, ABSOLUTE AND A LITTLE ARROGANT. I WANTED TO SAY: “THIS IS EVERYTHING, NO EXPLANATION IS NECESSARY.” KESHA? I WILL ONLY SAY THAT I SAW HER HIDDEN AMONG THE PUBLIC DURING THE PRESS CONFERENCE FOR MY ALBUM WITH A NOTEBOOK…

AN IT GIRL IN 2026 MUST HAVE PRESENCE, MYSTERY AND POWER. IT HAS TO BE EVERYWHERE AND REMAIN UNREACHABLE. MY FAVORITES? ASIA ARGENTO, KATE MOSS, MONICA BELLUCCI.
Where is the line between person and character? Does the mask help you be more yourself or take you a step further?
THE MASK DOES NOT HIDE, IT AMPLIFIES EVERYTHING.

THE CHARMING AND MYSTERIOUS OWNER OF THE RESORT, WITH AN ENIGMATIC PAST AND AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE, WHO LEAVES BEHIND HER A VERY EXPENSIVE PERFUME AND LEGAL PROBLEMS.
You say you’re a mix between Sophocles and Britney Spears. What do you take from each one?

Is the climate in Italy for the LGBTQ+ community as suffocating as it seems? What do you perceive in your concerts or in society?
INSTITUTIONALLY, THE CLIMATE FEELS SUFFOCATING, SOMETIMES HEAVY AND OPPRESSIVE. BUT WHEN I LOOK AT THE AUDIENCE IN MY SHOWS I SEE A DIFFERENT ENERGY: FREEDOM, COURAGE AND DESIRE TO CHANGE THINGS AND FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS.
