Before this announcement, The Rolling Stones surprised with a preview of new music under the fictitious name “The Cockroaches”, releasing the energetic track “Rough and Twisted”.

Finally, the band has officially confirmed their new album, which will be released on July 10 through Polydor and Universal Music Group. The album will include 14 songs and will be presented by the main single “In The Stars”, available from May 5 and with a physical edition scheduled for the 15th of this month.

Next to Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Woodthe album “Foreign Tongues” also includes one of the drummer’s last recordings Charlie Watts before his death in 2021. In addition, the album will feature special collaborations from Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The album was recorded in less than a month in the studios Metropolislocated in west London, under the production of Andrew Wattwho had already worked with them in “Hackney Diamonds” (24).

“I love doing these recording sessions in London, in Metropolis,” he shared Mick Jagger. “It was a very intense few weeks recording “Foreign Tongues”. We had 14 great songs and we went as fast as we could. I like the room because it’s not too big, so you can feel the passion of everyone in there.”

It does not seem that the rolling They are going to announce a full tour soon. In late 2025, the band confirmed that they scrapped a UK and European stadium tour planned for 2026, as Keith Richards could not make the necessary commitment to carry it out.
