London pays tribute to Marianne Faithfull with star-studded concert

Marianne Faithfull has received an emotional concert held at the Barbican Hall in London. The event brought together numerous artists to remember the legacy of the iconic singer, with a band made up of members of Radiohead either Portishead.

Among the notable names were Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Beth Orton, Anna Calvi, Rufus Wainwright and Ed Harcourtamong others. The concert took place on March 18 and coincided with the release of the documentary “Broken English”.

During the night, Jarvis Cocker performed a version of “Sliding Through Life On Charm”, while Rufus Wainwright gave an intense performance of “Ballad Of The Soldier’s Wife”. For her part, Anna Calvi brought the classic “Broken English” to the stage. In addition, Beth Orton paid tribute with songs linked to the artist, such as “Sister Morphine” and “As Tears Go By”, songs associated with Faithfull’s most influential period with The Rolling Stones.

The concert featured a band led by Rob Ellis and made up of renowned musicians such as Colin Greenwoodmember of Radioheadeither Adrian Utley of Portishead.

This tribute comes just over a year after the death of Marianne Faithfull – who left us on January 30, 2025 – and also serves as a prelude to the premiere of the documentary “Broken English”. The film offers an intimate portrait of his life and career, combining archival material with interviews and his last recording. The night in London celebrated the career of a fundamental artist. His legacy lives on both in music and in new audiovisual productions that claim his impact.
