Linkin Park have just released the second single with their new line-up, ‘Heavy Is The Crown’. In addition, it will also serve as the anthem of the League of Legends world tournament, as was the song ‘STAR WALKIN’ by Lil Nas X.
‘Heavy Is The Crown’ is the second single from the long-awaited ‘From Zero’ and comes out shortly after ‘The Emptiness Machine’ has reached 100 million streams on Spotify. This has a similar style to the first single, but is perhaps more immediate than that thanks to a string sample that is present throughout the song.
“This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown / Fire in the dawn, ashes raining down,” Emily Armstrong sings in the chorus. The former Dead singer Sara gives a great moment in the bridge, when she sings “this is what you asked for” while letting out a 16-second long scream. Just what the band’s fans wanted. The video clip for the song, in line with the League of Legends theme, is fully animated.
