Alcalá Norte may have thrown away its chances – which were not many, if not none – of opening for Oasis on their 2025 tour. Or the opposite. At the very least, the group has managed to attract the attention of Liam Gallagher. Of course, the merit is little: Gallagher is more addicted to Twitter-X-whatever-his-name is than them, or Pablo “Admin”, specifically, and he answers everyone.
Today, Gallagher has taken to recommending the Sex Pistols on his favorite social network, specifically the songs ‘God Save the Queen’ and ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’. And he has tweeted that, unless new bands look like them, they should spare their music. Specifically, he wrote: “Until your guitars and attitude resemble those of these dinosaurs, you can kiss my balls.”
Alcalá Norte has intervened, probably in defense of emerging bands like them, and has responded to Gallagher, writing in capital letters, that his “ATTITUDE STINKS.” Gallagher responded with a simple “fuck u.”
Previously, Gallagher had been in the news for commenting on a fake setlist from the Oasis tour: he says that “it’s not wrong.”
Last October, Oasis received criticism for their choice of support act on their UK and Ireland tour, Richard Ashcroft. According to many fans, Oasis were not offering any opportunities to emerging bands. Gallagher replied defiantly: “There are levels and levels to the game and I’m afraid many of you are not there.” Although some saw Fontaines DC playing the role, two of its members had publicly stated that the Oasis reunion was not of interest to them.
Alcalá Norte has released one of the Best Albums of 2024, although Gallagher probably doesn’t know it. ‘Alcalá Norte’ is one of the 12 albums nominated for the Ruido Award, which will be delivered soon.
Fuck you
