Lana Del Rey has presented “First Light”, the main theme of the video game “007: First Light”developed by IO Interactive. The song has been composed together with the veteran David Arnoldcommon in the saga of James Bond.
The game, which will arrive on May 27 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC (with a version for Nintendo Switch 2 planned later), will present an original story about the origins of agent 007. The cast includes names such as Patrick Gibson, Lenny Kravitz and Lennie James.
The relationship of Lana Del Rey with the Bond universe it comes from afar. In 2024, the artist confirmed that she had composed a song for the film “Spectre” (2015), finally discarded in favor of “Writing’s On The Wall” by Sam Smith. In this collaboration with David Arnold he has been luckier, providing a recognizable identity within the Bond universe without giving up his own style, and thus continuing the tradition of the saga’s iconic songs.
The release comes at a key moment for the singer, who is preparing to release her next album, “Stove”planned for this year. The album, previously titled “Lasso”already has several previews, including “Henry, Come On”, “Bluebird” and “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter”.
