Lana Del Rey covers ‘Take Me Home, Country Road’

Lana Del Rey continues to release new music months after the release of her latest album, ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocesn Blvd’, evidently one of the best albums of 2023, included in the JENESAISPOP 2023 Yearbook.

After releasing the viral ‘Say Yes to Heaven’, collaborating on several songs on her father’s album, and appearing on Holly Macve’s ‘Suburban House’ and Bleachers’ ‘Alma Mater’, Lana Del Rey releases a new single, in this case, a cover of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Road’.

Accompanied by a piano, produced by Zach Dawes, Lana sings ‘Take Me Home, Country Road’ with great feeling, before being joined by a choir. The song is a tribute to West Virginia, where Lana has performed this fall. John Denver’s original version reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971, and is one of her signature songs.

‘Take Me Home, Country Road’ isn’t the only song Lana has covered recently. Since Graceland, Del Rey has performed ‘Unchained Melody’, the famous Righteous Brothers composition, in the Christmas special dedicated to Elvis.
