While continuing in the number 1 of Spotify global list with ‘Die with a Smile’, its duet with Bruno Mars winner of a Grammy, Lady Gaga takes new steps alone, now with his new single, the epic ‘Abracadabra’, which goes from 8 to 5 in the Global of Spotify.
‘Abracadabra’ had already given Gaga the best debut of his career in the global Spotify table with a song performed alone. ‘Abracadabra’ – a crazy production of Gaga, Andrew Watt and Circa – opened at number 8 on the list, marking 4.92 million views on its first day. On its second day, it rises to 5 with 5.95 million streams.
In total, ‘Abracadabra’ has given Gaga the second best debut of his career on the Swedish platform, only behind a song that was also his, ‘Rain on me’, but shared with Ariana Grande: this song marked 6, 74 million at its premiere and then became the great success of ‘Chromatica’ (2020) in the official lists.
The data of ‘Abracadabra’ is better than that obtained by ‘Disease’ last October, which opened in the Spotify global with 4.45 million reproductions worldwide, positioning itself in 12th place in the list in its first day. The initial data of ‘Abracadabra’ is also better than that of ‘Die with a Smile’, which debuted in 10th position with 4.58 million streams.
Of course, it remains to be seen if ‘Abracadabra’ achieves the commercial impact of ‘Die with a smile’ or if, on the contrary, it ends up going as unnoticed as ‘disease’. At a minimum, ‘Abracadabra’, with his classic chorus of Gaga, and his spectacular video clip, seem to have generated some “hype” for the launch of Gaga’s next album, ‘Mayhem’, on March 7.
As a curiosity, Gaga places an old single in the Top 200 Global of Spotify, ‘Poker Face’, which marks a new entry in number 200.
