La Oreja pose together dispelling rumors of a reunion with Amaia Montero

Amaia Montero will return to La Oreja de Van Gogh for a tour. This was reported by journalist Isabel Rábago on the Telemadrid program Juntos, in information that has been echoed by other media such as La Vanguardia or Los 40 Principales. It should be said that neither Montero nor La Oreja de Van Gogh have confirmed or denied the information.

«The great news that this programme has been able to learn is that (Amaia Montero) is back with La Oreja de Van Gogh», declared Rábago in the programme. «I think it’s amazing news and it’s not just that she’s reuniting with them to party. No, she’s going to start a tour and we’re all going to be able to enjoy her on stage. Above all, seeing her well, seeing the whole group backing her up. And above all, how much fun we’re going to have this summer».

Although Rábago alludes to a supposed summer tour of La Oreja de Van Gogh with Amaia Montero, the truth is that La Oreja is already doing a summer tour that will take place during the months of June, July and August. The last date of the tour is September 20, the end of summer.

La Oreja has not published content on Twitter for days, but coincidentally this Friday it did. Specifically, the group has uploaded a photo of its five members posing together before performing in Valladolid, dispelling rumors of a meeting with Amaia Montero. «Just minutes away from the Conexión Valladolid festival with one eye on the sky because it is raining. “The clouds that we left behind can now be parted.”

Amaia Montero left La Oreja de Van Gogh in 2007 to start her solo career. In 2008 she joined La Oreja Leire Martínez, its current vocalist. Together with Leire, La Oreja continues to tour this summer and will soon perform at Río Babel sharing the bill with Amaral.

In 2023, JENESAISPOP reviewed the career of La Oreja de Van Gogh in the podcast Revelación o timo, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of ‘Tell the Sun’. In the guest chair, Esnorquel highlighted the discography of La Oreja, whose songs we continue to listen to almost three decades later.
