Kurt Vile has announced the release of his new album, Philadelphia’s Been Good To Mewhich will see the light next May 29 through Verve Records. This is his first job since “Watch My Moves”published in 2022.
As a preview, the artist has shared the single “Chance To Bleed”, a piece with a melancholic atmosphere where Vile looks back on his early years in the Philadelphia underground scene. The entire album, indeed, was written as a love letter to his hometown, combining free-drifting ballads with songs of luminous tone.
In this sense, it is a particularly personal project, which Vile himself is treating as if it were the high point of his way of understanding music. A final album, composed between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2026, in a process in which the artist has sought to recover the spontaneity of his first home recordings without giving up greater sonic definition.
With the release of the new single, in which several regular collaborators participate such as Natalie Hoffman, Ethan Buckler, and Greg Cartwrighta new international tour has been confirmed for 2026 that will tour North America, the United Kingdom, and different countries in Europe. In summer it will be close to our country, since the August 13 at the portuguese festival Coura Walls.
