“Cryptonite people” is a concept that exists. It is the opposite of “vitamin person.” If you don’t know what I’m talking about, better. If you are interested, I refer you to this article. If you already know the concept of cryptonite person you probably know that it comes from the world of comic: it refers to a type of people who “weaken us” and that “we cannot get us out of our heads” even if they are no longer part of our life.
Gara Durán, the Madrid singer -songwriter, is inspired by this idea in her new single, ‘Kryptonita’. On this issue, Durán remembers a relationship that made him feel “full”, but also on the verge of feeling “small.” His lover “won all the fights,” while she constantly feared that person “forgot his name.” Durán suspects that “this love was a disaster,” but remains obnubilated by that person.
‘Kryptonita’, a song written, composed and produced by Gara Durán, transmits the feeling of the song with a mixture of dream and melancholy, using electronic and acoustic elements. If the synthesizers refer to Oklou undulating reflexes, acoustic guitar plumaries and soft scheduled percussions lead to the most timeless Dream-Pop. A beautiful song, written in the moonlight, which continues to present the debut album by Gara Durán, for sale this year. ‘Robot’ has been the first advance.
Durán will present his album in 2025 dn a tour that will pass through Room B of Madrid on October 10 and through the Taro Room in Barcelona on October 17. Soon more dates will be confirmed.
