More bands leave Spotify for the political drift of their owners. Following the steps of Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are among the artists who protest the company for the investments of its co-founder Daniel EK. Indicates the band in a statement:
«For those who do not know, Daniel EK, CEO of Spotify, invests millions in military drones technology with artificial intelligence. We just removed our platform music. Can we press these demons to do it better? Join us on another platform ». In addition, they are promoting a very simple motto: «Fuck Spotify».
The news is full of symbology because King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are the most prolific group of today: in less than 15 years they have published 27 albums. The new thing they promote is a set of demos in Bandcamp.
In Spain, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s music can still be heard on the streaming platform, probably because of its international digital distributors. Pitchfork reports that in the United States the only thing is a collaborative split that they took with tropical Fuck Storm.
