You may have missed it on Facebook because you don’t log on to Facebook anymore or you may have been on holiday, but this summer something really exceptional happened. Kiki d’akí has announced a concert in Madrid. It will take place on September 27th at the Sala Maravillas. They will perform in a double bill with Evripidis & His Tragedies.
María José Serrano, a legend of the 80s if ever there was one since she was part of Las Chinas – an influence on current groups such as Papá Topo -, later embarked on an interesting solo career, first collaborating with El Zurdo, then with Sergio López de Haro.
Halfway between singer-songwriter and national indie pop, he released albums on prestigious labels such as Nuevos Medios and Siesta, such as ‘No mires detrás’ or ‘Villa Flir’. Like the albums on La Buena Vida de Siesta, these albums are not available for streaming. In 2018, ‘Breve encuentro’ was released, which was released in Munster and is available for streaming.
Kiki d’akí doesn’t usually perform live, much less at festivals, so the announcement has a double value. Will we hear hits like ‘Accidente’ or ‘Feliz cumpleaños’ at the show? Will their repertoire be similar to the one we saw in 2010?
Kiki d’akí’s concert with Evripidies is part of Vibra Mahou’s Escenarios Madrid series, so you can buy tickets from their website. Jazz, soul and indie artists will also be performing in the series. For example, you can also see Josephine Network on September 25 at Wurlitzer and Nadie Patín on September 26 at El Sol.
