Khruangbin They celebrate ten years of their classic “The Universe Smiles Upon You” (15) with a completely reinterpreted version of the album.
The new version of the album by the Texas trio presents varying degrees of subtlety and musical reinterpretation of the original album. In “The Universe Smiles Upon You ii”the order and track listing have been modified, removing the original album opener and including fan favorite “Bin Bin.”
The release is also accompanied by a new video clip for “White Gloves ii”, directed, produced and starring the band themselves. The digital album is now available on all platforms through Dead Oceans. The physical album is now available for pre-sale, on vinyl and on Deluxe CD, all with photos from the album’s recording sessions and an interview about the recording process.
Laura Lee, Mark Speer and DJ Johnson Jr. make up Khruangbina musical trio originally from Houston, Texas. Their sound is characteristic for combining different musical influences such as dub, psychedelia or classic soul.
