Khalid comes out of the closet: “I have been exposed”

Khalid, who released ‘Sincere’ in the middle of the year, has come out of the closet on

The author of ‘American Teen’ has been forced to develop his thoughts after a user responded to his first tweet: “I hope Mr. Khalid is not gay.” So, the 26-year-old singer has definitively confirmed that he is and that “nothing is happening.”

The news comes after the singer Hugo D Almonte published on the social network, in a now deleted tweet, that “one of your favorite gay R&B singers performs fellatio on me and it’s really bad.” He and Khalid had a relationship that did not end well.

Khalid has clarified that if he had not come out publicly, it is because “it is no one’s business”, not because he is ashamed of his sexuality: “I have been exposed and the world continues to spin. I’m not ashamed of my sexuality! The reality is that it is nobody’s business! But I’m fine with myself,” he wrote in a subsequent tweet.

Vulture spoke to Almonte to ask him about what happened: “It’s really funny how it works because my intentions were never to expose someone who had clearly already come out to the Los Angeles community,” he stated.
