Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ breaks records after Olympics

We thought everyone had seen “Drive” and I knew that big hit that is “Nightcall” by Kavinskybut that was not the case. The world discovered the song thanks to the artist’s appearance at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. And that led him to break records.

What record are we referring to? Well, “Nightcall” has become the most Shazamed song –on the song identification platform– in a single day in history after the song was performed at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games by Kavinsky and with the Belgian singer Angele as a guest voice. And that was despite the fact that the artist was competing with none other than Phoenix, Billie Eilish, Air, Vampire Weekend either Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Let’s remember that “Nightcall” is a 2010 song that was part of the soundtrack of the hit movie “Drive” of Nicolas Winding Refn –starring Ryan Gosling– and that the song’s voice was Lovefoxxx of Tired of Being SexyIt is also a song that has recently become popular among the metal public as it is the song with which the Americans avenged sevenfold take the stage on their current tour.
