Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ Receives Diamond Record

The American RIAA has decided to certify Katy Perry with several Diamond Discs ahead of the release of the artist’s new single, ‘Woman’s World’. ‘Teenage Dream’, Katy Perry’s second album, released in 2010, has achieved the Diamond Disc category for having sold 10 million copies in the United States, adding to the hundred certified Diamond Discs.

By comparison, 2013’s ‘Prism’ is certified five times platinum, half as many as ‘Teenage Dream,’ and 2008’s ‘One of the Boys’ is certified three times platinum, Forbes reports. 2017’s ‘Witness’ is certified gold.

In addition, two singles from ‘Teenage Dream’ have also been certified Diamond, these are, ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘ET’. Katy Perry has posed happily with her Diamond Discs in a photo uploaded to social media.

Katy already had several Diamond-certified singles under her belt, including ‘Firework,’ ‘Dark Horse,’ ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Roar.’ Perry’s next singles to achieve Diamond status in the near future are ‘Hot N’ Cold,’ which has 8 Platinum records, and ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and ‘Last Friday Night (TGIF),’ which have 6 Platinum records each.

This June it was revealed that Rihanna is the female artist with the most Diamond Singles in her possession, with seven in total.
