Katy Perry receives criticism for the teaser video for ‘Woman’s World’

Katy Perry’s comeback is closer than ever. The American singer has announced that the music video for ‘Woman’s World’ will be released this Friday at 1am Spanish time. The same goes for the song. Perry has given us a few clips from the video in a teaser that promises to take us back to the artist’s exaggerated beginnings, in songs like ‘California Gurls’. However, and although she hasn’t shown much, she is already receiving mixed opinions.

“It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it,” Perry sings, as images from the video clip appear in which both she and the dancers seem to parody the typical image of the working man. In one frame, we can see that the diva recreates at some point in the video the famous photograph of the workers having lunch on top of a skyscraper under construction.

The internet has been flooded with all sorts of comments. While some say the song sounds “like an SNL parody,” others warn not to be fooled “by jealous fans.” The video shows very little, but it’s enough for people to criticize it. For example, for showing only one “body type,” despite it being a whole “woman’s world.”
