Kasba Music continues to celebrate its twenty years of experience with various releases that review its catalog and that are part of the musical history of the territory. Now it’s the turn of “Barcelona Sound”a reflection of a sound and a very special moment.
The Kasba Music record label started the year by releasing “Apolo Room. January 21, 2004” of Fermin Muguruza Kontrabanda and has continued to release references of Pixamandúrries, TNT, Manética, Cristian Dios, La Kinky Beat or compilations of female artists related to the label, of new Catalan hardcore punk bands and of Human Coloran essential band in the future of the record company.
Now comes another title that serves to summarize what has been a time, a sound and an important part of the history of Kasba Music, “Barcelona Sound”. It is a vinyl compilation that reviews the best songs of the bands of what was called “Barcelona sound” and that includes pieces such as “Every day the sun comes out” by Bongo Botrako“Gat Rumberu” by The Sticker or “Alma de cantaora” by Amparo Sanchez. We will also meet Nour, Cheb Balowski, Zulú 9:30, Microguagua, Muyayo Rif, Fufü-ai or those already mentioned Human Color and The Kinky Beat.
“Barcelona Sound” will be available from November 8joining two other essential references for lovers of this type of sounds such as “Made In Barcelona” of The Kinky Beat –reissue of the group’s first album originally released in 2004– and the compilation “Juice of Life” of Human Color –which collects songs from the four albums of the referential band led by the ill-fated Jose Capel –both available from September 13 and October 18 respectively.
