Kanye West gives a rare show in China, and cancels in Slovakia

Kanye West – or Ye – has offered a concert at the Shanghai stadium, China, which has been marked by several setbacks, including technical problems, bad weather and its usual unpunctuality. The show has started 40 minutes late with respect to the scheduled time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

With the public at the stadium demanding reimbursements, Kanye has managed to complete what has been his first concert since December 2023, when he acted in Miami Beach, as can be seen in Setlist.fm. During 2024, Kanye celebrated several public listening sessions of his album ‘Vultures 2’ in China -last in September of that year -but those events were not conventional concerts.

The chronicles describe a performance by Kanye that has oscillated between the overflowing energy in ‘On sigh’ and an attitude apparently dejected in ‘Losing Your Mind’, one of the various unpublished themes presented live for the first time. Next to this, ‘Preacher Man’, ‘Damn’, ‘Alive’ or ‘WW3’, all gathered at the end of the set.

Kanye West’s concert in China is atypical, since the rapper is barely presented live, due to his difficulty finding sponsors that are associated with him, as The Hollywood Reporter reports. In fact, the Bratislava Rubicon Festival, Slovakia, in which Kanye was a sign, has had to be canceled by criticism. The continuous West controversies related to Nazism, racism and other controversial themes have made it a couple of the music industry. His announced new album, ‘Bully’, is still unpublished.
