Kali Uchis surrenders the Oldies in ‘All I Can Say’

First it was Cuco, with his tribute to Chicano Soul, and now it is Kali Uchis that proves luck in the world of soul, the Doo Wop and the vintage ballads. ‘Sincerely’, his fifth studio album, focuses widely on this sound, but ‘All I Can Say’, Focus Track of the LP, is the one that totally returns us to the past. It is the song of the day.

During the promotion of the album, Uchis prepared a series of special mailboxes in which he left clues about what was going to arrive, so the first news of the song came through a USB that a fan found. That same afternoon, the advance was already published in networks.

Produced by 54 Ultra, Vince Chiarito and the singer herself, ‘All I Can Say’ is one of the purest ballads Kali Uchis has written. In the same album, in addition, there is the passionate ‘Sunshine & Rain’.

In ‘All I Can Say’, Uchis sings without reservations about the love he feels for his partner, rapper Don Toliver: “All I can say is that you have to be with me / and that a dreamer should dream / how if the dreams would not become a reality?” He sings in the first lines.

At the same time, it leaves room to address issues such as acceptance to the same and the freedom to dream without limits: “No, I do not apologize for the way I am / because of the way I love / or for the heart I have,” concludes the artist.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obbxhtwfskq
