Justin Bieber working on new music with Mk.gee

Mk.gee, alias of American guitarist and singer Michael Todd Gordon, has released his remarkable debut this year, ‘Two Star & the Dream Police’, a work that, situated somewhere between “hypnagogic pop and alternative R&B”, above all showcases Mk.gee’s talents on the electric guitar.

Mk.gee’s talents have been in demand lately by artists such as Omar Apollo and Kacey Hill, and it seems that Justin Bieber has been keeping an eye on his work. Mk.gee has revealed that he is currently working with the author of ‘Purpose’ (2015).

He said in an interview with The New York Times: “(Justin) is in a period of searching,” the musician said. He also highlighted Bieber’s talent for adapting to different ideas: “Everything that comes out of his mouth is pop music. Behind that you can do very crazy things, just because, in some way, it represents something.”

Bieber, who has not released an album since 2021, has been dealing with various health issues in recent years. In 2023, it was announced that he had sold his entire catalog for 183 million euros. Lately, Bieber has occasionally collaborated with SZA on a remix of ‘Snooze’ or offered a few private concerts, with no plans to return to the musical front line in the near future.

These days Justin Bieber and his wife, model and socialite Hailey Bieber, have welcomed their first ‘Baby’, Jack Blues Bieber, into the world.
