Justin Bieber joins the World Cup break

Justin Bieber has been announced for the half-time show of the World Cup final, which takes place on July 19, in 10 days. Bieber joins a somewhat surreal line-up, which already included Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Coldplay, Miss Piggy, Kermit, a choir of Staten Island schoolchildren and even the cast of Sesame Street.

The announcement comes just days after Bieber was seen at the NHL Draft to announce the Toronto Maple Leafs’ first pick.

As if that were not enough, Bieber has also taken advantage of these weeks to publish the live albums from his two performances at Coachella 2026.

Although neither ‘Swag’ nor its second part are among the most celebrated releases of his career, Bieber is once again experiencing a great moment thanks to the unexpected resurgence of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, global number 1 on Spotify for weeks and still among the most listened to songs on the platform. It would be strange if the song did not also end up playing in the first halftime show in the history of a World Cup final.
