The British-Nigerian Joshua Idehen will bring his musical poetry closer to Barcelona and Madrid next May. It will be an ideal opportunity to discover a very personal universe that swings between genres.
Since his participation in the album “Your Queen is a Reptile” (Verve Label Group, 18) Sons Of Kemet, Joshua Idehen burst onto the English jazz scene with a duality between a healing and threatening narrative. Even so, the musician has been active since 2011, the year of publication of his first work “Routes” next to L.V..
Joshua Idehen will act May 14 in Barcelona (Razzmatazz 3) and the May 15 in Madrid (The Sun) presenting his latest work “Mum Does the Washing”, published in 2024.
The British-Nigerian, who has been in the industry for over a decade, has contributed poems to Mercury Prize-nominated albums such as “Channel The Spirits” of The Comet Is Coming. Now, together with the producer Saturday, Mondayhas created a spiritual proposal that positions him as a spokesperson for the new Afrofuturism.
