John Forté, collaborator and producer of The Fugees, dies

According to police sources, he was found dead in his home in Chilmark, Massachusetts, last January 12. Chilmark Police Chief Sean Slavin said there was no evidence of homicide or an “obvious cause of death.” According to several media outlets, Forté suffered a serious health problem last year when he was hospitalized after a seizure. Since then, he would have been taking medication to prevent a tonic-clonic seizure. On the other hand, it is also worth remembering that years ago Forté was accused of trying to introduce cocaine into his country through an airport.

Some colleagues have reacted to his death on social networks, such as himself. Wyclef Jeanwho published a video on his Instagram account in which the two are seen performing “Ready Or Not” with the text “Rest in peace, refugee brother.”
