Jimin, Stray Kids, Childish Gambino, Deep Purple… on Discos España

The Spanish album chart continues to be led by Karol G and her ‘Mañana será bonito’, an album that has returned to number 1 thanks to Karol G’s recent concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, despite the fact that it is more than a year old. Chiara Oliver’s ‘La libreta roja’ remains in 2nd place, and Cruz Cafuné’s new EP, ‘blu€s’, is in 3rd place, and almost all of its singles are also featured on the singles chart.

The top 10 includes two more entries, both of which belong to the K-pop genre. Stray Kids, in first place, place their album ‘Ate’ at number 6. And in number 8 is Jimin with ‘Muse’. Jimin, a member of BTS, is currently number 1 on Spotify’s global chart with ‘Who’.

In 26th position appears for the first time on the list the new album by Pablo López, a live album called ‘Pab10 Lopez en Conciert10’.

One of the most interesting entries on the list is Childish Gambino’s new album, ‘Bando Stone & the New World’. Donald Glover, who was once number 1 in YouTube hits in Spain with the video for ‘This is America’, places ‘Bando Stone’ at number 89 on the Spanish album chart. This is one of the worst commercial figures for ‘Bando Stone’ in general, but it is also a small success for Childish Gambino in Spain, as none of his albums had ever entered the chart before.

The best figure for ‘Bando Stone & the New World’ is a tie in Canada and Norway at number 17. In the United States, the album has entered at number 16, behind the top five of ‘«Awaken, My Love!»’; and in the United Kingdom it has finished at number 33.

The last two entries in the Spanish album chart are also original works. On the one hand, Deep Purple, the hard rock giant, places ‘=1’ at number 42, and Danny Ocean places his new EP, ‘Venequia.’, at number 76.
