Follow the wave of cancellations in the FIB for the corporate relationship of the Benicàssim festival with the KKR company. Caliphate 3/4, Mushkaa and Camelos, which were confirmed in the program, have decided to uncheck the festival for ethical reasons. The dear one reveals in a comment to Jnesaispop that she and her team have rejected today an invitation to participate in the festival.
Caliphate 3/4 have communicated their cancellation in the FIB publishing the dates of their tour with that eliminated event. Then, in the comments, they have confirmed that the date has been extracted “by the relationship of FIB with Israeli companies.”
Mushkaa explained why he has canceled at the FIB. In a brief statement published in her stories, the Catalan explains that she decided to move forward with her performance in Sónar because “at that time she thought that the boycott was not the only way to do activism and that perhaps from within we could change certain things.” However, he now recognizes that “he made a mistake” and believes that “the boycott is the only tool for real change against genocide.”
Mondosonoro informs that Camels will not act in the Valencian event. The Madrid group, in its stories, has limited itself to confirming its decision not to participate in the festival, and has referred the public to the information available on this matter.
Finally, Jimena Amarillo has become the eighth artist to cancel his appointment at the FIB, which is celebrated this weekend. This has been published on its social networks: “I have decided to cancel my participation in the FIB after linking to the KKR investment fund,” he announced. In addition, he adds that this is an event subject to interests “incompatible with our values.”
On the other hand, according to the newspaper, Facua-Consumenores in Action has assured that the substantial changes in the festival cartel after the withdrawal of several artists entitled users to claim the return of money, and that companies cannot refuse to it.
These three artists follow the steps of resident or Judeline, who have canceled their performances in the FIB for the same reasons.
This year’s FIB poster is headed by international artists such as Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Black Keys, Foster The People, Bloc Party or Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, and by Spaniards such as Viva Sweden, the Blue House or Love of Lesbian.
