JENNIE serves up a bop with El Guincho in ‘Mantra’

JENNIE has recently triumphed alongside The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp in the mournful slow jam of ‘One of the Girls’, a song included on the soundtrack of the reviled ‘The Idol’ that exceeds one billion views on Spotify.

Known for being one of the members of BLACKPINK, JENNIE has released several solo singles. In fact, she was the first member of BLACKPINK to make the leap outside the band when she released ‘SOLO’ in 2018. Then, ‘You & Me’ was released in 2023. Today, JENNIE returns with one of the great international releases of the day.

‘Mantra’ is JENNIE’s first single after signing with Columbia Records, and it is a bop of Miami bass rhythms that helps the singer show off her beauty: “Pretty girls don’t do drama unless we want it, it depends on the day.” , sings the South Korean, who even threatens to “convert” anyone who doesn’t like women: “She’s a stunna / Makes you wanna swing both ways,” she sings.

JENNIE’s ‘Mantra’ is accompanied by a crystalline and dancey production signed by El Guincho, partner of all current cool girls. El Guincho has just made headlines for revealing the influence that Björk has had on his career, specifically in his transition from artist to producer.

The Song of the Day comes with another of those high-budget music videos that K-pop idols spend. Directed by Tanu Muino.
