JENNIE, member of BLACKPINK, and one of the k-pop superstars, has given the first details of her debut album. ‘Ruby’ can be heard starting March 7 and is expected to include the hit ‘Mantra’, co-produced by El Guincho.
Other guest stars will appear on the ‘Ruby’ tracklist, including megastars Dua Lipa and Kali Uchis. Also confirmed are Childish Gambino, the revelation Doechii, Dominic Fike and FKJ, as revealed in the official trailer for the album published in the last few hours.
In an interview with Billboard, JENNIE explains that ‘Ruby’ will be an eclectic album, made up of different genres. “In one song I rap, in another I sing, in another I make harmonies, in another I speak.” According to JENNIE, the uniting element of the album is that “I like every song.”
‘Ruby’ will hit the market when it will be almost 7 years since the release of JENNIE’s first solo single, ‘SOLO’, in 2018. Since then, the South Korean has released other singles, such as ‘You & Me’, Although, above all, he has been on the lips of pop fans for his role in ‘The Idol’, The Weeknd’s battered series. JENNIE also participated in the soundtrack of the series and, specifically, scored a macrohit thanks to the song ‘One of the Girls’ with The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp.
Rosé, JENNIE’s BLACKPINK partner, has recently released her -disappointing- debut album. BLACKPINK’s latest LP, ‘Born Pink’, dates back to 2022.
