The British Jamie XX continues to tease songs that will be part of his next album, “In Waves”, to be published in September. Now it’s her turn to “Life”, a song in which she features Robyn as guest vocalist.
A few days ago, Jamie XX announced what would be his second full-length, which will be titled “In Waves” and will be released on September 20 by Young/Popstock! She did it with the song “Treat Each Other Right.” But that wasn’t going to be the only song to listen to from the album before it was released.
That’s why here we have “Life”, a piece in which Jamie XX collaborates with the Swedish pop singer Robyn, with whom he establishes a creative dialogue that works perfectly. Jamie himself comments: “I made this track pretty quickly (for me) and I loved it from day one. When I first heard Robyn’s voice it was at 6am after finishing playing at Pacha in Ibiza , it was perfect timing. Robyn and I have spent time working together and hanging out for a few years now. It’s always a joy and always inspiring to work with her. I’m so happy and grateful that she’s a part of this next record! Thank you Robyn for bringing this song to life!”
The album will consist of twelve songs, among which will also be “Baddy On The Floor”, his collaboration with Honey Dijon, which we heard last April. In any case, this will be only one of the collaborations, since we will also find collaborations from The Avalanches, Kelsey Lu, John Glacier, Panda Bear and his companions in The xx, Romy and Oliver Sim.
On the other hand, there will be a special vinyl edition that will also include the singles “It’s So Good”, “Kill Dem”, “Let’s Do It Again” and the exclusives “FU (feat. Erykah Badu)” and “Do Something”.
