The untitled album has been given away at Third Man Records stores in Nashville, Detroit and London.
Last Friday, fans who bought records at one of these three stores were surprised with a strange gift: it was a vinyl with only the inscription “NO NAME” on it. In reality, it contained thirteen new Jack White songs that the artist himself is encouraging fans to share.
Third Man Records, via an Instagram story, offered buyers to “copy and distribute” it. Meanwhile, Detroit radio station WDET 101.9 FM streamed the full album and it can now be heard on YouTube.
This unexpected release is the musician’s first since his 2022 albums, “Fear of the Dawn” and “Entering Heaven Alive”. Although the label has not confirmed whether the album will have a formal release or a definitive title, the album recovers the sound of The White Stripes.
