J Balvin has the strongest entry of the week on the Spanish albums chart, which continues to be led by Karol G. ‘Rayo’, J Balvin’s sixth album, enters at number 6 on the chart helped by the pull of the single ‘Doblexxó’ with Feid, the only one to sneak into the singles chart.
‘Rayo’ doesn’t match the numbers of ‘Jose’, which reached number 1, or ‘Colores’, which reached number 2, but it does improve on the numbers of ‘OASIS’ with Bad Bunny, which came in at number 9; ‘Vibras’, which came in at number 15, and ‘Energía’, which didn’t go beyond number 38, at a time when J Balvin was less well-known. Of course, all of these albums were sleepers. We’ll see if ‘Rayo’ manages to do so.
The second entry of the week on Promusicae is signed by one of the hottest names in urban pop, Chilean FloyyMenor. His global hit ‘Gata Only’ with Cris Mj is a huge success and the album that contains it, ‘El Comienzo’, is now in 9th place.
Calvin Harris stars next, albeit at number 72; this is the debut on the Spanish album chart for Harris’ new compilation ’96 Months’, which includes his new single with Ellie Goulding, ‘Free’.
Next up on Promusicae’s list are two curious entries. On the one hand, ‘Memphis’, the new Elvis Presley compilation celebrating the 70th anniversary of his career, appears at number 81. On the other, the soundtrack to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ sneaks in at number 85.
The last entry on the list is a metal one: it’s the new album by Swedish heavy metal band Hammerfall, who enter in ’91 with ‘Avenge the Fallen’.
