Isleña Antumalén and Javiera Mena united in the queer anthem “Madrugadas de Nada”

The Mapuche artist Williche Antumalen Island and the reference of Chilean electronic pop Javiera Mena They present “Madrugadas de Nada”, their new queer anthem about the courage to love again.

The song unites dembow amapuchao, traditional ranchera and electronic, indie and pop sensibilities, with an avant-garde and popular production.

Isleña surprises the world again after her highly acclaimed debut “Ñaña”, now she is betting on an electropop ranchera with one of the queens of the genre in all of Latin America such as Javiera. “Madrugadas de Nada” was born after a digital interaction between the artists and mixes parts of each artist along with inspirations from others such as Los Peregrinos del Amor.

“For a long time I wanted to do something for the southern women and men. In my region, the rancheras are everything and they are intergenerational, so I wanted to give them something of that,” says the artist noted for her tireless work as an activist for waters and rivers.

The song lifts the spirit with the story of two women who turn one night into their vital turning point. The imagination of both artists expands with a video recorded in Máfil and Valdivia, which is scheduled to be released on Monday, May 18.
