“Interstella 5555” by Daft Punk will hit movie screens

The French electronic music duo daft punk once again releases news related to the feature film “Interstella 5555: The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem” (Leiji Matsumoto, 03). Now it can be seen on movie screens in forty countries in 4K.

The band Daft Punk, formed by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, recently broadcast the film “Interstella 5555: The 5tory Of The 5ecret 5tar 5ystem” (03) through its Twitch channel, but now we will have the opportunity to see this truly cult animated science fiction film on cinema screens in 4K quality in around four hundred theaters in forty countries, including ours, of course.

Written by the duo with Cédric Hervet and Kazuhisa Takenouchiand directed by the legendary Leiji Matsumoto (“Captain Harlock”, “Queen Emeraldas”)–, was created as a visual part of the album “Discovery” (01), where each song was animated with different parts of the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band.

Until now, the film had only been seen on the big screen at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, and was later put on sale on DVD and broadcast on Twitch a few months ago. Now, the film of just over an hour can be seen in theaters along with a selection of some of the group’s great music videos signed by leading directors such as Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry either Roman Coppola.

Tickets will go on sale at this same link on November 13.
