In indie you can also sing about being happy

Occasionally, indie rock is also about being unconditionally happy. It’s just the vibe that Toldos Verdes’ latest collaboration with Maite Quiero, former shego vocalist, brings. In it, they both sing about those days when everything seems perfect. ‘100’ is the Song of the Day.

Nobody has invented the wheel with this topic, but that is precisely why it becomes more valuable how easy it is to have ‘100’ on a loop. The little candy from Toldos Verdes and Maite Quiero talks about the pleasure of “waking up”, of being “lying on the couch” and of the days when the only worry is “What should I eat?”. They also don’t ask for much to be happy: “It’s nice to walk (with helmets on).”

However, the other side of the coin is also present in the song. Such beautiful days are only possible because of the existence of not so beautiful days, just as Maite sings: “I haven’t been so well for months.”

The production is carried out by the artists themselves and Diego Escriche, a key figure in Spanish indie, having produced entire works by Shego themselves, Depresion Sonora, La Paloma, Mala Gestión or even María Escarmiento. That ‘100’ sounds so dreamy has a lot to do with him.
