Iggy Pop and Bad Gyal happily live in a Mallorca live in “crazy prodigious”

60,000 people have attended this weekend to the eighth edition of Mallorca Live, which on Saturday has celebrated its third and last day with the leading concerts of Iggy Pop and Bad Gyal. Although it seems – at a glance – that Aitana’s power of call last year has not been repeated (they tell me that the enclosure was bursting), the atmosphere has once again been indisputable, and surely the ninth edition will be a success again. What unexpected poster will then wait?

We started the afternoon divided between Repion and Judeline. We decided to go to both concerts. REPIONthe duo of the Cantabrian sisters María and Teresa Iñesta, present their effective punk-rock for the second time at the festival. Repion launch their powerful guitars, also harmonize how she dances alone in a rare acoustic song and, in addition, give the public an unpublished song, ‘The dream lasts a week’, which will be part of their next album, already recorded.

Of JUDELINE Little must be said that we have not already said. His show in Mallorca Live dispenses with the assembly seen in previous presentations, which remains impact. The “Canijo” – in the concert played by a dancer – continues to torment the life of Lara Fernández and, before singing ‘silver tendrils’, that of Cádiz advises his fans, scarce, that “they skip the phase of falling in love with a boy who sells drugs.” The bases of ‘Zahara’ or the same ‘Canijo’ are still luxurious, although he would have grateful in this presentation much less noise leaving the speakers. The new single, ‘glass girl’, also sounds on the set.

When already dusk, The Kanka He presents his daily poetry on stage is Jardí and rejoices the atmosphere with his happy songs. ‘I would like’, in Gypsy Jazz code, or the warm Rumba Bossa of ‘handsome and beautiful’, they happen in a skillfully interpreted repertoire next to a band of five musicians, including a trumpetist. The Kanka – the same by Juan Gómez Canca – also dedicates a few words to the eclectic programming of Mallorca Live: he says that he must be a “prodigious crazy” to mix Iggy Pop, Bad Gyal, the Kanka and Judeline. He celebrates it and we too.

Iggy Popthe first highlight of the night, enters like a torpedo on the star scenario Damm and reviews its historic discography with the Stooges and alone. Iggy Pop of course acts unreasonable – in another way we would not have recognized him – and ‘TV Eye’, ‘Raw Power’, ‘I Got A Right’ and ‘Gimme Danger’ – all of the Stooges – one behind the other. His band of seven musicians-including two trumpets-projects a spectacular, superb, perfectly greased sound, which provides a layer of elegance to the urgent punk-rock of Iggy Pop.

In ‘The Passenger’, the first concession to his solo career, James Newell Osterberg, JR, exhibits his hoarse voice. Then, the succession of ‘Lust for Life’ and ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ takes the concert to a very high point when he has just begun. Before, in ‘Death Trip’, Iggy talks about death. He acknowledges that he sometimes wants to die and sometimes not, but adds that “whatever happens”, he will continue at the foot of the canyon.

‘Search and Destroy’ or ‘Down in the Street’ are chained in a repertoire of unleashed punk-rock that does not lower the rhythm. Perhaps when Iggy Pop sits on a speaker to rest. But soon Iggy goes down to the pit and acts near the public, although he meets a group of Bad Gyal fans located in the front row that observe him completely baffled. But nothing – he also had his visible scoliosis – prevents Iggy Pop from delivering the energy that the audience expects from him.

The punk concert of Biznaga It has everything: songs, message and a vozron, that of Álvaro García, who transmits the letters with a huge power. The Madrid group presents its album ‘Now’!, Dedicated to the real estate crisis, and looks absolutely delivered to their role as entertainment professionals: they encourage their audience to give everything, to dance with their friends and, ultimately, to be happy as much as possible. Their lyrics talk about precariousness and gentrification, but their songs invite collective relief. The guitarist Álvaro “Torete” married plays with such passion that taking off his eyes off is impossible. The group honors its song ‘The enthusiasm’, which closes the bolus, and offers a punk set that causes that same emotion.

Bad Gyal It brings a new show in its bikini Badness Tour, which congregates the youngest public of the festival on this last day. Alba Farelo, in its role as a total diva, brings a reggaeton and dancehall show choreographed from beginning to end that does not dispensed with the fire jets, or the generous dance body that accompanies it at almost all times, or a concert format that chains one song after another sometimes hit. Although the star remains her and her attitude deliberately reluctant and “cool,” but that the twerk erases and that, with a change of costumes, it causes furor.

The succession of Hits (‘Bota girl’, ‘Sexsexy’, ‘Truth’) leaves no time to breathe, except in the long breaks that separate the different acts from the show, in which, in a strange way, darkness and silence reigns. At least three times it seems that the concert has suddenly finished, when preparing for the next phase.

But when the lights shine, Bad Gyal and his team of dancers offer a real bacanal of urban rhythms and female sensuality with expensive taste and smell of “coconut oil.” That sensuality is central to the show and, in one of the most memorable moments, Bad Gyal lets an ice cube scrub down by one leg by one of his dancers. In another, Farelo Versiona ‘Stars Are Blind’ by Paris Hilton, although he leaves her too soon.

The second part of the set is reserved the hits the most hits of Bad Gyal: ‘Chulo’, ‘Blin Blin’, ‘Without card’, ‘Flow 2000’ or ‘Zorra’ are chained without truce. From ‘La Joia’ a few cuts are recovered, such as ‘Mi Lova’, ‘the one that does not move’ or the hit that deserved to be more ‘lost this ass’. Bad Gyal’s costume, pure “Flow 2000”, leaves its steel abs, and confirms that Bad Gyal continues to take steps forward as an artist and performer. Every show that brings is better and this is no exception.
