IDLES reinvent Little Simz’s “Mood Swings”

The British IDLES They join the “Spotify Singles” series of the platform that gives it its name. But, as we could imagine, their participation is not common.

Recorded in Los Angeles, this single by the British IDLES includes a different version of the torn “Roy”, one of the pieces of “TANGK”. Although the big surprise is that the main theme of the single is neither more nor less than an adaptation of “Mood Swings”, a resounding song by his compatriot Little Simz. But, of course, theirs cannot be a simple version of the song, but they go much further.

“Mood Swings” was the percussive song with which Little Simz opened their EP last February “Drop 7”. And IDLES manage to take her to her land. Now, to give it its shape they have combined it with nothing less than “Fuck The Pain Away” by peachesa 2002 song that opened “The Teaches Of Peaches”and with “Elektrobank” The Chemical Brothersone of the themes that were part of “Dig Your Own Hole” of 1997.
