Tomorrow, Friday, September 27, the Bilbao band will take to the stage for the first time to present their project live. I DON’T WANT TO. Despite the premiere, Bilbao residents have been relentless since the pandemic: Their debut album was, “Monterey”released in December 2021, of which they published 8 singles, each with a corresponding video clip in short film format. Its sound, based on accessible pop-rock where guitars, rhythm and melodies stand out, “aims to re-value the album but adapted to the context of the 1920s. XXI”. Despite mainly having classical references, there is no shortage of more sophisticated elements in the production such as string or wind sections. As for the lyrics, they raise various social and cultural themes from a critical but constructive point of view.
In their new album, the Bilbao band will present 9 songs that follow an accessible rock pattern with guitars in the foreground and powerful choruses, but with a more raw and direct sound. We have already seen their first two singles with their corresponding video clips, “Toma de control” and “Amarillo”, the latter published two weeks ago.
I DON’T WANT TO is a Pop Rock band from Bilbao created in 2020 by Alberto Macías, Antón Uribe and Gaby Salaverry, three professionals in the music and audiovisual production sector who have chosen not to allocate their time, energy and money to paddle tennis, golf or the couch, but to put together this daring musical and audiovisual project. The project is a cry of nonconformity, of not giving up being yourself, of not forgetting your dreams, of not locking up the child that deep down you still are and of fighting for what you really love.
