Mad Cool Festival presents the mobility plan for its 2026 edition, which will be held from July 8 to 11 at the Iberdrola Music venue in Madrid. The festival, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary, will once again have a special device to facilitate the arrival and, above all, the return home of attendees by public transport.
The poster for this edition includes names such as Foo Fighters, Lorde, Kings of Leon or Florence + The Machine, among others.
The operation has been coordinated with the Madrid City Council, the Government Delegation, Municipal Police, Civil Guard and National Police, and is committed to the use of the metro, Cercanías, buses and free shuttles to reduce traffic in the area’s surroundings.
Metro
The Metro Line 3 will extend its hours exclusively for the festival departure.
– Wednesday, July 8 (early morning on Thursday): until 2:00.
– Thursday, Friday and Saturday (early mornings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday): until 3:30.
The assistants They will only be able to board at the Villaverde Alto stationwhile the only downhill stops will be Legazpi, Ambassadors and Sol.
To reach the festival, the reference station will continue to be Villaverde Alto (Line 3).
Surroundings
There will also be an expansion of the service Commuter C4:
– Of 00:30 to 2:00 during the early hours of Thursday.
– Of 1:30 to 3:30 the early mornings of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
To get to the venue you can use:
– C3getting off at San Cristóbal Industrial.
– C4getting off at Villaverde Alto.
– C5getting off at Villaverde Alto.
For the return there will be special trains from the C4 between Villaverde Alto and Atochawithout intermediate stops. This service will be gratuitoussince its cost will be assumed by the festival organization.
In addition, different access lanes will be enabled in Villaverde Alto to speed up the entry of passengers to the metro and Cercanías during the festival’s departure.
Free shuttle bus
Mad Cool will once again offer a free shuttle bus service to return to the center of Madrid.
The route will go from the vicinity of Villaverde Alto until Atochawith an intermediate stop at Legazpi.
The schedules will be the same as those of the special Cercanías service:
– Of 00:30 to 2:00 early Thursday morning.
– Of 1:30 to 3:30 the early mornings of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
City buses
The EMT lines that allow you to reach the festival are:
– 22 (Legazpi – Villaverde Alto): from 5:30 to 23:45.
– 79 (Legazpi – Villaverde Alto): from 6:00 to 23:30.
– T41 (Villaverde Alto – La Resina Industrial Park): from 6:30 to 21:00.
– N14 (Cibeles – Villaverde Alto): from 11:40 p.m. to 5:50 a.m.
Taxis and VTC
The organization recommends using public transport, although it has also established single points for taxis and private vehicles.
The only official taxi rank will be located in San Eustaquio street, between San Norberto and Resina de Villaverde streets.
In the case of the VTC with prior reservationthe collection point will be Valle de Tobalina street, corner with San Ezequiel street. Only vehicles with a previously contracted service will be able to access.
Pick-up and drop-off point by car
Those who choose to go or return by private car must use the only official passenger pick-up and drop-off pointlocated in the Acebeda street, next to San Ezequiel street.
